Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Smooth Movers website and the moving services we provide as a licensed Massachusetts moving company based in Northampton. By requesting a quote, booking a move, or using this site, you agree to these terms.

Quotes, deposits, and pricing

Quotes are based on the information you give us about your home, access, stairs, and belongings. Our flat-rate price is honored as quoted as long as the actual move matches that description; if the scope changes — additional items, a different building, or access we were not told about — we will discuss any adjustment with you before proceeding. A $110 deposit reserves your date and crew and is credited to your final bill. Local hourly rates, where used, are $179 per hour for a two-mover crew and $249 per hour for a three-mover crew.

Our responsibilities and yours

We will arrive with our own licensed, insured crew and trucks and handle your belongings with care, including padding, wrapping, and floor protection. You agree to provide accurate information, safe and legal access at both locations, and to arrange any required parking permits or building reservations, which we are glad to help coordinate. Please tell us about any items of unusual value, weight, or fragility in advance.

Liability and coverage

Every shipment includes released-value protection at sixty cents per pound at no additional charge, the federal default. Full-value protection is available on request, and we carry up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage per shipment. Claims must be reported to our office promptly so we can inspect and resolve them. Our liability is limited to the coverage level you select for your move.

Scheduling and weather

New England weather can affect move days. In the event of a Nor’easter, ice storm, or other unsafe conditions, we may reschedule for the safety of your belongings and our crew, and we will coordinate a new date with you.
